Also known as the "peacock plant", this enchanting plant native to Brazil is characterised by oval and rounded leaves of a dark or light green colour.
In this Kokedama the green or white brush strokes on the upper side of its leaves and the red-purple patterns underneath recall the plumage of tropical birds, making it stand out.
All Calathea plants 'lift' their leaves at night.
This phenomenon, known as " nyctinasty" is a response to light stimuli; when there is not enough sun in the environment, the leaves rise up looking for light.
